The Crinchon is a picturesque river<\/strong> in the Hauts-de-France region, more precisely in the Pas-de-Calais d\u00e9partement. As a tributary of the Scarpe, it contributes to the Escaut river system. This 19 km-long river rises in Bailleulmont, at an altitude of 133 m, near Le Marauny. This “almost stream” meanders from its source in a north-easterly direction, crossing the commune of Achicourt, where it passes under a railway bridge used by the Arras to Saint-Pol-sur-Ternoise and Doullens to Arras lines. Finally, it flows into the Scarpe on the right bank, north of Arras, on the territory of Saint-Nicolas. In the past, this river divided Arras into two distinct parts: the town to the west and the city to the east. Over time, the Crinchon has been covered within Arras. However, it continues to run alongside Vauban’s citadel<\/a> and Saint-Vaast Abbey, now home to the Mus\u00e9e des Beaux-Arts d’Arras, in the south-east of the city. During a stroll through the Parc des Grandes Prairies<\/strong>, visitors can admire the banks of the Crinchon, which offers a soothing setting and a serene atmosphere.
